CONSTRUCTIVIST

a modern Hi-Fi tone box built around a powerful adaptive Match EQ engine and a carefully designed ecosystem of musical processing tools.

Original price was: $89.90.Current price is: $19.90.

Using either curated library references or your own uploaded audio, Constructivist’s Match EQ analyses and reshapes incoming material, allowing you to quickly steer sounds in new directions while the surrounding modules add colour, movement and density.

Alongside the Match EQ are harmonic excitement, compression, saturation, transient shaping and character EQ modules, all designed to interact as part of a larger processing ecosystem or function independently as individual processors. The result is a workflow that feels fast, instinctive and creative, allowing sounds to become bigger, brighter, heavier or more aggressive without losing musicality.

Constructivist rewards experimentation. Push modules harder than you normally would, blend them back with the dry signal and discover tones you would not typically arrive at through conventional workflows.

Inspired by the philosophy of classic channel strips but rebuilt for modern production, Constructivist is designed for producers and engineers who want exciting sounds quickly without sacrificing flexibility or character.

REFERENCE LIBRARY

Included in Constructivist is a reference library of example tones that can be used as a jumping off point for Match EQ exploration.

The library includes example tones for drums, guitars, bass and ‘Noise’ references, which can create unique and creative textures.

LEARN EQ CURVE

The Learn function first listens to the selected reference, either uploaded or from the library,
then listens to the source audio and creates a compensated EQ curve.

The Match EQ itself is a powerful tool, but we have meticulously tuned it to be as usable and musical as possible.

All EQ points are adjustable and can be disabled or removed
individually.

CLEAR EQ CURVE

Resets the Match EQ engine.

2 'SHEEN' MODES

Sheen is a dual-mode exciter. The two modes switch between different processing characters,
each routing and configuring the processing chain in subtly different ways.

Mode 1
A complex process incorporating console saturation, VCA-style compression characteristics
and subtle pre-emphasis. At extreme settings it will squash and excite the audio, while carefully balanced settings can help bring sources to life.

Mode 2
A harmonic exciter incorporating hard clipping and an upper mid-range push. Compression
characteristics are moved further down the chain, making them less obvious in use. Polish vs Bite.

4 'PROCESS' CURVES

Process contains four EQ characters. Each is a fixed arrangement of filters designed to
quickly shape and excite audio in different directions.

P1
Great for hyping snare drums or similar material that demands weight and upper mid-range
excitement.
P2
Designed to breathe life into midrange-heavy sources such as guitars, drums or vocals.
P3
Focused on low-end-heavy material such as kick drum and bass guitar.
P4
A broad excitement curve. Think the classic ‘smiley face’ EQ for the modern age.

DRIVE / SATURATION

Drive is a non-linear saturation module tuned to add a more ‘Hi-Fi’ style distortion to the
source.
At moderate settings, Drive adds density and weight. Pushing it past 12 o’clock introduces
significant harmonic excitement.

MIX / BLEND

Blends the original dry signal back into the mix.
Constructivist often rewards extreme settings blended with dry audio. Explore and experiment.

GATE

A subtle noise gate designed to reduce, rather than completely remove, bleed and noise.
The gate uses a frequency-dependent sidechain to help focus its response characteristics.

TRIM / OUTPUT

Output level control for manual gain adjustment.

We always recommend level matching to unity for more accurate comparison and decision
making.

AUTOGAIN

Autogain uses a brief learning stage before applying corrected output compensation.
If using Autogain, we recommend resetting it each time the project is opened.

2 COMPRESSION MODES

Punch is a dual-mode compression stage positioned towards the end of the processing chain.
Mode 1
A slow attack, fast release compressor designed to keep transients focused while controlling
body and sustain.
Mode 2
A fast attack compressor based on an ‘IYKYK’ style circuit. This mode helps pin audio into
place, creating density and control.

HIGH PASS FILTER

Introduces a high-pass filter into the processing chain.

ENVELOPE SHIFT

Envelope is a novel bi-polar parallel transient/sustain module.
Tilting anti-clockwise focuses the transient and pushes resonances and bleed further back in
the mix. Tilting clockwise enhances sustain and tail information, adding depth and size to the
source.

CURVE AMOUNT

The Q slider increases or decreases the depth and breadth of the Match EQ response.

Pulling the slider down creates softer, broader curves, while pushing it up creates a more aggressive and resonant response.

REFERENCE UPLOAD

Drag and drop or click here to locate your desired reference tone. Experiment with hits,
loops, mixes, noise or anything else you can think of.

Anything can become a creative spark.

“I recently got my hands on constructivist and was able to start shaping drums with it really quickly! The controls are extremely self explanatory and musical too. The eq match feature is an amazing addition and helps to get a vibe going instantly.”
